Member Town Meeting Recap

More than 125 members attended our all-member meeting last week and we are happy to report we heard nothing but positive comments. Board members Summer Strand and Mike Theo presented the details of the Legacy Initiative, including the financing options and project timelines, followed by General Manager Mary Gaffney-Ward, who reviewed the initial renderings and provided members with an overview of the proposed renovations. Perhaps the best part of the evening was when long-term members, Governor Tommy Thompson and Mark O’Connell, stressed the importance of member support. While the past few years have been difficult, significant challenges also provide significant opportunities. How we meet these challenges rests in our hands. For the Club to remain remarkable, we must honor our prolific past and make necessary changes that will continue the Club’s legacy.

As members gathered after the meeting to celebrate together, many commented how fortunate the Club is to have such dedicated members and a committed staff that will ensure our continued success. For those who were unable to attend, we videotaped the meeting and, while it is not the best quality (demonstrating why we need the meeting tech upgrades!), we are including the link below so every member has a chance to hear the presentation. The video includes two parts, each lasting approximately 20 minutes. You will also find the renderings and presentation outline for your review below.

Additionally, all members will receive a detailed letter from our board on this all-important effort to enhance the member experience and attract new members to ensure our viability for another 100-plus years! If you have any questions or would like to review the project details in person, however, please feel free to contact Mary at 608-255-4861. Time is also of the essence if you are considering joining with members who have already generously donated. Our fundraising deadline is fast approaching, so if you are interested in contributing please contact us asap. It’s now our turn to lead.
